Coast eloquently crosses the bridge between Asian and European foods, taking you through a historical journey from old Turkish dishes based on recipes from the 17th Century and bringing you bang up to date with new Pan Asian and Mediterranean dishes.
Dining at Coast is as much a celebration of different cultures, history and geography as it is a unique and quintessential dining experience.
The simple but stylish presentation of all our dishes compliments the purity of the ingredients we use. Home grown and organic foods are favoured wherever possible and we choose local producers for most of our source ingredients. Fish and seafood is ordered daily as required. To ensure authenticity in our dishes, Coast imports some of the more exotic ingredients from their principal countries. Turkish food uses many pulses and vegetables as staple and this is reflected in the many tasty vegetarian options on the menu.
A sample of Coast starters:
- Fresh squid pan fried in a light lemon and garlic butter
- Falafel with chilli and coriander .
- Clay baked Tipsy shrimps
- Warm Pear and Walnut Salad
A sample of Coast main dishes:
- Zarzuela - slowly marinated seafood casserole with wine, garlic, saffron & almonds
- Steamed Lemon sole with ginger, soy & sesame
- Sticky Ginger Chicken with pan fried noodles
- Balli Mahmudiye (an old Ottoman dish - slices of grilled chicken served in a slow cooked almond, apricot, hazel nut and honey sauce)
- Walnut Kuzu (created originally in the 17th C - tender pieces of lamb marinated in saffron, cinnamon & nutmeg. Slowly cooked in a sweet pomegranate & walnut sauce)
As much time is devoted to our Desserts & include:
- Hosmerim (a delicious old Ottoman recipe made with thick cream and crushed nuts).
- Chocolate Avalanche (a homemade chocolate sponge filled with warm melted chocolate sauce).
- Summer Fruit Brulee (brulee with a refreshing twist)
